Abstract
:
The present study was aimed to investigating the relationship between achievement in mathematics and interest in mathematics. The investigator has used the self made tool for achievement in mathematics. To determine the interest in mathematics of the students, a standardized tool prepared by Dubey, LN (2000) was used. The tools were administered on a sample of 1000 students studying 11th standard in Thanjavur District. The scores achieved on achievement in mathematics and interest in mathematics inventory by the respondents were tabulated and analyzed statistically. The results so obtained were interpreted. Findings of the study revealed that achievement in mathematics score was positively correlated with the interest in mathematics of the students.
