Abstract : The aim of the study is to find out the Emotional Intelligence and Academic Achievement of the prospective teachers with reference to the types of college management. Normative survey method was followed in the present study. The data were collected using Emotional Intelligence Inventory and Academic Achievement Test from the selected sample of 1262 prospective teachers studying in different types of management like Government, Government Aided and Private colleges of Education through stratified random sampling technique. The obtained data were analyzed by using the statistical techniques mean, standard deviation F-test and t-test. The results found that the prospective teachers have very high level of Emotional Intelligence and medium level of Academic Achievement. The Government college prospective teachers have high level of Emotional Intelligence when compared to the Private college prospective teachers. The Government Aided college prospective teachers have high Academic Achievement when compared to the Government and the Private college prospective teachers.
