Abstract : The present research study is to assess the creative thinking and self-confidence among higher secondary students. Creative thinking is a cognitive perspective of an individual. The creative thinking has two components. They are, verbal and non-verbal thinking. The verbal ability of the learners deals with the word fluency, numerical ability and verbal efficiency. The non-verbal thinking of learners deals with the graphical and pictorial representation, which develops the creative ability of the learners. The self-confidence among higher secondary students is very essential as it initiates the learners to work towards their achievement and progress. Survey method employed for collecting the data from 150 samples of higher secondary students using stratified random sampling technique. The major objectives of the study includes, to measure the level of self-confidence and creative thinking, to find out the level of self-confidence and creative thinking among higher secondary students based on gender and locality. The findings of the research study shows that the level of creative thinking among higher secondary students is high in nature, and there is a significant difference of creative thinking among higher secondary students based on gender and locality of residence, the level of self-confidence among higher secondary students is high, whereas there is a significant difference among higher secondary students in the self-confidence based on locality and there is no significant difference in the self-confidence among higher secondary students based on gender. There is a moderate positive significant relationship between self confidence and creative thinking.
