Abstract : Pre-requisite for the good quality education system is the professional training of the teachers. A good teacher in spite of the worst condition of the system gives it best. The teachers should be well versed in both the quality and quantity. Hence a sound practice-teaching (training) is required to learn the necessary skills of teaching. Attitude plays a very crucial role in deciding the outcome of the practice teaching. In the present study humble attempt was made to compare the attitude of prospective teachers towards the practice teaching programme in relation to their stream, and gender. Sample of 100 students were randomly selected from the Department of Education of Aligarh Muslim University for the study purpose. There exists a significant difference in the attitude of pupil-teachers before and after teaching-practice. Furthermore no significant difference is found in the attitude of pupil-teachers with respect to gender and stream.
