Abstract
:
The researcher has undertaken this study to find out the students#34sig attitude towards modern audio visual equipments in learning Science. Normative survey method was adopted to collect data from the sample constituted 783 IX standard students, selected using random sampling technique in the selected high schools of Nagapattinam District. Attitude tool with five point scale consisting of 60 statements was constructed and validated by the researcher to measure the level of attitude of students. The questionnaire contains 45 statements with three dimensions of using Television, Computer and Smart class was constructed by the researcher and validated to find out the level of using different types of modern AV equipments by the teachers. From the findings it was concluded that the level of using different types of modern AV equipments by the teachers is not equal and there is no significant difference between the attitude of students towards modern AV Equipments in learning Science with respect to gender, locality of students, type of family and type of school. It is recommended that the modern AV equipments provided in the schools should be used by the teachers to create interest among the students in learning science.
