Abstract : The aim of this study is to find out the professional ethics and emotional intelligence of higher secondary teachers with reference to their marital status, age and monthly income and to find out the relationship between professional ethics and emotional intelligence of higher secondary teachers. Normative survey method was used for the study by the investigator. For the purpose of the study a sample of 400 higher secondary teachers were selected through stratified random sampling technique. The result found that the level of professional ethics and emotional intelligence of higher secondary teachers is high. There is no significant difference in professional ethics among higher secondary teachers with respect to their marital status and income but, there is a significant difference among higher secondary teachers with respect to their age. There is no significant difference in emotional intelligence among higher secondary teachers with respect to their age but, there is a significant difference among higher secondary teachers with respect to their marital status and income. It is also found that there is no significant relationship between professional ethics and emotional intelligence of higher secondary teachers.
