Article : ANALYSIS OF STUDY HABIT OF TEACHER TRAINEES OF PRIMARY TEACHER TRAINING INSTITUTIONS

Abstract : The main objective of this research is to analysis the study habit of primary teacher trainees and to study the differences in the study habit of male and female and I year and II Year teacher trainees of primary teacher training institutions. A sample of 194 primary teacher trainees drawn from two teacher training institution of Mysore city, using purposive sample method was taken for the study. The study considered study habit as dependent variable and gender and class (I Year and II Year Teacher Trainees) were independent variable. Data was collected using study habit questionnaire developed by the researcher. The collected data was analyzed quantitatively using statistical technique Mean, SD, average percentage and t test. The major findings are Teacher trainees showed higher study habit and with respect to dimensions teacher trainees showed higher level of study habit in learning process and college environment and less study habit with respect to self-confidence. Class level have influenced on study habit of teacher trainees whereas gender influence was not found.
