Article : A STUDY ON THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN SELF PERCEPTION AND STUDY INVOLVEMENT OF HIGHER SECONDARY STUDENTS

Abstract : The aim of this study is to find out the self perception and study involvement of higher secondary students with reference to Gender and Locality of school. In the present study normative survey method was done by the investigator. Five Factor Measures of Schizotypal self perception Scale constructed and Standardized by investigator and the study involvement inventory was constructed and standardized by Asha Bhatnagar (1982). For the purpose of the study a sample of 960 Higher secondary students were selected through simple random sampling technique. The data were collected and Mean, Standard deviation, t-test were used to analyze the data. The result found is that the level of self perception of higher secondary students is average and study involvement is also average. There is a significant difference between gender and locality of the higher secondary students in respect of self perception and there is a significant difference between gender and locality of the higher secondary students in respect of study involvement.
