Article : ATTITUDE TOWARDS CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES AMONG HIGHER SECONDARY STUDENTS OF KANGRA DISTRICT IN HIMACHAL PRADESH

Abstract : The study aimed to examine the attitude of higher secondary students towards co-curricular activities of Kangra District in Himachal Pradesh. The method used for the present investigation was descriptive survey method. Stratified Random sampling was used to select 240 higher secondary school students giving due weightage to gender (equal male and female), institution type (equal govt. and private) and stream of study (equal students from science, arts and commerce stream). A self-prepared questionnaire was used by the investigator to measure the attitude of students towards co-curricular activities. The data was analyzed by employing descriptive statistics like Mean, Median, Mode, SD, kurtosis, skewness etc. and for inferential purpose, t-test and ANOVA was employed. The result of the study revealed that the overall attitude of the entire sample was found to be favourable towards co-curricular activities. It was concluded that there was exists no significant difference of attitude between male and female higher secondary students towards co-curricular activities. Further it was found that there was exists a significant difference of attitude of higher secondary students towards co-curricular activities in relation to their institution type and academic stream.
