Abstract
:
The current study aims to explore the various factors that influence the quality of work life of teachers working in higher education sector in the state of Kerala. The data required for the study has been conveniently collected from 600 teachers working in higher education sector. Exploratory factor analysis revealed five factors, which significantly influence the quality of work life: Opportunity for Professional Development, Autonomy in work, Interpersonal relationship and work environment, Work-life balance, and Job security and remuneration. It is therefore suggested that when attempting to draft policies and programmes for teachers working in higher education sector, these five factors must be kept in mind.
