Abstract : This paper investigates the validity of the NCERT curriculum for English. After globalisation, National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) emphasised on designing a standardized curriculum for English at school level to meet the global requirements. American Council on Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) is globally utilized standard for setting curriculum framework for English. The two different sets of frameworks for English such as ACTFL and NCERT are correlated in terms of equivalence to justify the validity of the NCERT framework of English. Thus the paper concludes, that the activity related to NCERT Curriculum levels appear to have no direct back reference to ACTFL framework, but the degree of arrangement of skills has a reference back more to ACTFL framework for English.
