Abstract : This investigation was carried out with the main objective to identifying the family adjustment of married women high school teachers. This study was carried out on 300 married women high school teachers in and around Madurai city. The investigator adopted the Family Adjustment Inventory developed and validated by Vishwa Vijaya Singh for the study and also a self-made personal data sheet to collect the data. She has applied descriptive analysis, differential analysis and relational analysis. This study reveals the existence of moderate levels of family adjustment among the married women teachers. It was also found that there is no significant difference in family adjustment among married women high school teachers with regard to their educational qualification, age, family type, designation, type of school, teaching experience and nature of employment, but significant difference was found among married women teachers with regard to their number of children. Further, significant association was found between the levels of family adjustment, and their number of children, type of school, and nature of employment of married women high school teachers. This research suggests the need for complete support and encouragement to working women teachers for work life balance.
