Abstract : This study aimed to find out the Value Preferences (Human Value, Social Value, Aesthetic Value, Religious Value and Political Value) of secondary level teacher trainees. The survey method was adopted in the study. 248 secondary level teacher trainees studying in different teacher education institutions of Kottayam district of Kerala state were selected as sample. The tool used in this study is value priority scale. The major findings of the study state that the value preference of trainees is moderate. t-test and f-test were used to analyse the data. The study reveals that identifying the value priorities of trainees is essential for teaching and training, so that the teachers and teacher educators can make use of some innovative strategies like value analysis to settle the value conflicts and make better value preferences.
