Article : ONLINE TEACHING IN THE COVID-19 LOCKDOWN: A CHALLENGE FOR TEACHERS

Abstract : Face-to-face interactions between teachers and students as well as healthy discussions between students inside and outside the classroom are integral parts of good learning. But being at home, direct or face to face interaction between teacher and students became impossible. And for millions of students, the closure of schools will not be a temporary interruption in their education, but a sudden end to education. Now online teaching is the only way for teachers to stay connected with children and support their studies. But a very large number of teachers were not feeling themselves ready to adopt online teaching. Therefore, the option of online teaching in front of him was no less than a big challenge. The number of schools and colleges fully adopting the option of online teaching was also very limited. Many educational institutions especially government and institutions located in rural areas are unable to engage their students in the online teaching-learning process due to various reasons in the COVID-19 lockdown. In the present article, an attempt has been made to know such reasons, due to which the online education system became a challenge in front of the teachers during the COVID-19 lockdown.
