Abstract : In an epoch of knowledge explosion, knowledge management is as important as the ability to create new knowledge. As a best practice of knowledge sharing, educational institutions must understand where and in what forms knowledge exists. Plugging into the exact knowledge sources and transform them into a fathomable format is important in knowledge management. Human being knows more than what he can tell. It is the core part of knowledge translation that looks into the Tacit dimensions of knowledge. Tacit knowledge is the collection of intangible abilities and insights gained through experience that are hard to articulate. Tacit and indigenous knowledge sources need to be explicitly expressed to translate knowledge effectively to the learning community. Knowledge, if properly managed and transferred to the needy, can create a leap in educational transformation. This paper investigates the role, dimensions, and prospects of Tacit and indigenous knowledge in educational transformation, while externalized and expressed explicitly.
